Refurbished Grade II Listed Coach House Officially Opens in Stroud
Stroud Valley Scout Group is proud to celebrate the official opening of its Grade II listed Coach House on Hollow Lane.
The building has undergone a full refurbishment over the past nine months, made possible thanks to successful grant applications — including £87,000 from the Severn Trent Community Fund and £5,000 from the Bernard Sunley Charitable Trust.
The renovation has brought the building back to life with a new roof, double-glazed windows, full insulation, new flooring, and a completely updated kitchen, bathroom, and shower room. The Coach House is now suitable for meetings, workshops, and small events, with seating capacity for up to 20 people.
The building was officially opened by Stroud Mayor, Cllr Tony Davey.

Karl Durr-Sorensen, Chair of Stroud Valley Scout Group, said:
“This has been a huge labour of love by the whole team involved in the refurbishment.
We’re very grateful to our funders and to our builders, Roger and Kai Hunt.
The building will be available to hire from December onwards.”
Jade Gough, Community Fund Officer at Severn Trent, added:
“It’s been fantastic to support Stroud Valley Scout Group with this project and see their plans come to life,
bringing the building back into use for the community for years to come. The hard work they’ve put in and the
support the community has given really shows how much the building means to local people.”
