Scouts from Stroud Valley Scout Group taking part in a Remembrance Sunday service alongside local cadets

Who we are

Stroud Valley Scouts is an active, inclusive group in the heart of the Stroud District.
We help young people aged 4–18 learn skills for life through adventure, challenge and teamwork — all led by trained, passionate volunteers.

Our mission

We inspire young people to explore, discover and grow. Through weekly sessions, camps, activities and community projects,
we give every young person the chance to build confidence, resilience and independence.

What we do

At Stroud Valley Scouts, young people get opportunities to:

  • Take part in exciting activities and outdoor adventures
  • Make new friends and be part of a supportive community
  • Learn practical skills, teamwork and leadership
  • Earn badges and awards to celebrate their achievements
  • Challenge themselves and try things they’ve never done before

We run sections for all ages — Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers — each delivering the official Scouts programme in fun, age-appropriate ways.

Meet our team

Our group is run entirely by volunteers — leaders, helpers, and our trustees — who give their time to create safe, fun and meaningful experiences for young people.
Every adult plays a vital part in making Scouting possible.

Interested in joining our team? Even an hour makes a difference.

Our community

We’re proud to be part of the wider Stroud community. Our young people get involved in:

  • Local events
  • Helping charities
  • Environmental projects
  • Partnerships with schools and organisations

We believe in giving back and helping young people make a positive impact where they live.

Everyone’s welcome

Scouting is open to all young people and adults, whatever their background, ability or experience.
Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do — because every young person deserves the chance to shine.

Our Strategy to 2035
