Volunteers

Volunteers make everything we do possible. Whether you’re thinking about joining the team
or already volunteer with Stroud Valley Scout Group, this page will help you find the right
information and support.

Help young people gain skills for life

Volunteering with Scouts is flexible, rewarding and open to people with all kinds of skills
and experience. You don’t need to have been a Scout before, and there are lots of ways to
get involved around work, family and other commitments.

Not sure where to start?
You don’t need to choose a role before getting in touch. Tell us a little about yourself
and we can help you find a way to volunteer that works for you.

Already a volunteer?

Your starting point is The Hub

The Hub is the central workspace for Stroud Valley Scout Group volunteers and trustees.
Use it to find Group documents, risk assessments, event information, venue tools,
uniform requests, Scouts systems, guidance and other useful resources.

You’ll need your Stroud Valley Scout Group Microsoft 365 account to sign in.

Young Leaders & DofE

Young people aged 14–18 can support our sections as Young Leaders, including as part of
the volunteering section of a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

It’s a great way to gain experience, confidence and leadership skills while becoming a
valued part of a section team.

Need help?

If you need help with volunteering, training, your Group account or accessing The Hub,
please get in touch and we’ll point you in the right direction.
