29 Scouts and Volunteers Take on Strategy 2026

Last weekend, 29 members of Stroud Valley Scout Group headed to Cirencester Park
to take part in Strategy 2026, Gloucestershire Scouts’ flagship
county camp.

Bringing together thousands of Scouts and volunteers from across the county,
Strategy is one of the biggest events in the Scouting calendar and offers young
people the opportunity to experience a huge range of adventurous activities,
challenges and new friendships.

After arriving on Friday evening and setting up camp, our Scouts spent the
weekend making the most of everything Strategy had to offer. From adventurous
activities and team challenges to exploring the vast event site, there was
always something happening and plenty of opportunities for young people to step
outside their comfort zones and try something new.

One of the best parts of the weekend was seeing our Scouts demonstrate the
teamwork, resilience and enthusiasm that make Scouting so special. Whether
helping one another around camp, taking part in activities or simply making
new friends, they represented Stroud Valley Scout Group brilliantly throughout
the event.

Events like Strategy remind us of the incredible opportunities Scouting provides.
Not only do young people get to enjoy unforgettable experiences, but they also
develop confidence, independence and skills that will stay with them long after
the tents have been packed away.

A huge thank you goes to all of the volunteers who gave up their time to make
the weekend possible, as well as the organisers of Strategy 2026 for delivering
another fantastic event for young people across Gloucestershire.

Most importantly, thank you to our Scouts. You threw yourselves into every
challenge, embraced every opportunity and made us incredibly proud. We hope
you enjoyed the weekend as much as we did.

Judging by the smiles in the final group photo, we’d say Strategy 2026 was a
resounding success!
