Welcoming Hannah to the Team
Hannah Joins Stroud Valley Scouts as Community Engagement Lead

We’re delighted to welcome Hannah to the Stroud Valley Scouts volunteer team, who joined us in January 2026 as our new Community Engagement Lead.
In this role, Hannah focuses on strengthening Stroud Valley Scouts’ connection with the local community, helping us share our story, celebrate our heritage, and build meaningful links with community groups, organisations, and events across the area.
Since joining, Hannah has already begun work on an exciting project in partnership with the Stroud Arts Festival. The project will celebrate our historic connection with Netlam Bigg, who played a key role in both the early development of the arts festival and the founding of Stroud Valley Scouts. The work highlights the longstanding relationship between Scouting, creativity, and community life in Stroud.
Alongside this, Hannah will be planning events that help bring our members and their families together, strengthening connections within the group while also welcoming the wider community into what we do. These events play an important role in helping people feel involved, informed, and part of the wider Stroud Valley Scouts family.
A key focus of Hannah’s work over the coming months will be supporting the planning and delivery of events to mark the group’s upcoming 90th anniversary. This is an exciting opportunity to celebrate our history, recognise the volunteers who have supported the group over the years, and look ahead to the future of Scouting in the Stroud Valley.
Community engagement is central to helping Stroud Valley Scouts thrive. By building strong local connections and creating opportunities for people to come together, Hannah’s work helps ensure the group remains active, visible, and valued within the local community.
We’re really pleased to have Hannah on board and are looking forward to seeing the impact of her work as these projects and events develop.
