2019 has been a successful year, for Cubs and Scouts at Stroud Valley Scout Group, with a number of them achieving their Chief Scout Silver Award (Cubs) or Chief Scout Gold Award (Scouts).  To gain the awards they have had to complete various challenges including organising expeditions, camping skills, learning about communities, undertaking creative activities and much more. They were presented with their awards by Acting Group Scout Leader, John Jones who said, “I’m very proud of these Cubs and Scouts and their commitment to Scouting.  I’ve seen many of them progress from Beavers to Cubs and then on to Scouts.

“We have an active and growing Group with lots of dedicated leaders. However, we are always looking for more support and would be pleased to hear from any adults interested in volunteering.”

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
