Welcoming Drew to the Team
Drew Joins Stroud Valley Scouts as Site & Facilities Lead

We’re pleased to welcome Drew to the Stroud Valley Scouts volunteer team, who joined us at the start of December 2025 as our new Site & Facilities Lead.
Drew is responsible for looking after the Scout Centre, Coach House, and surrounding grounds — planning improvements, coordinating maintenance, and helping ensure our site remains a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained space for everyone who uses it.
Although Drew has no previous Scouting experience, he is a local tradesperson with strong community connections. His children are involved in both Girlguiding and Scouting, and he wanted to make a practical difference to the place that Stroud Valley Scouts calls home.
Our site plays a vital role not just for our own sections, but for the many groups and activities that use it throughout the year. Drew’s work helps ensure it remains a place where young people can learn, grow, and have fun, and where the wider community can come together.
Drew is already helping plan improvements and coordinate ongoing maintenance, but he can’t do it alone. To keep our fantastic site looking its best — and to help develop it further as a busy community centre in the heart of Stroud — we’re looking for more people to join the Site & Facilities Team.
This is a flexible way to volunteer that suits people at many stages of life. You might be able to help occasionally with practical tasks, support routine maintenance, or get involved in longer-term improvement projects. You’ll have the chance to work alongside Drew and be part of a friendly, supportive team making a lasting impact for generations to come.
If you enjoy practical work, planning improvements, or simply want to give something back to the local community, this could be a great way to get involved with Stroud Valley Scouts.
