The Coach House is a newly refurbished, self-contained venue full of natural light, character and warmth. Ideal for smaller groups of up to 20 people, it offers a calm and comfortable setting for meetings, workshops, tutoring, wellbeing sessions, creative work and professional use.

It is also a great option for people who work from home and want an ad-hoc shared workspace — whether you’re meeting colleagues for a collaborative day, hosting a small project session, or simply need a quiet and private place to work.

The space includes a free-to-use printer and a 50" TV screen on wheels for presentations, hybrid meetings or shared work.

With its own entrance, kitchenette, private bathroom and upstairs meeting space, the Coach House provides a welcoming, independent environment while still being just steps away from the main Scout Centre.

About the Space

The Coach House is a bright, modern space designed for focus, comfort and smaller group activities. Natural light from skylights, wooden flooring and thoughtful refurbishment make it an inviting venue throughout the year.

Popular uses include:

• Meetings and team sessions
• Working-from-home meetups or shared workspace days
• Tutoring and small educational groups
• Counselling, therapy and wellbeing work
• Art, craft and creative workshops
• Community volunteering or planning sessions
• Quiet study or project work

Not suitable for parties, loud activities or bouncy castles.

Kitchenette

The Coach House includes a well-equipped kitchenette, suitable for preparing drinks and light refreshments during your session.

Please note: this is a light-use kitchenette and not suitable for commercial catering.

Bathroom Facilities

The Coach House has its own private toilet and shower on the ground floor, available exclusively to your booking.

Upstairs Meeting Space

An additional upstairs room offers a quiet, flexible area ideal for meetings, breakout discussions, tutoring or private consultations.

Access is via an internal staircase and is not wheelchair accessible.

Parking

• Two parking spaces directly outside the Coach House
• Easy on-street parking nearby
• Parking at the main Scout Centre is not included and may not be available if the Centre is in use

Hire Rates

The Coach House is available at the same simple rates as the Scout Centre:

• £10 per hour (up to 8 hours)
• £80 for a 24-hour booking
• £130 for an overnight booking (6pm–10am)
• £220 for a full weekend (Friday 6pm – Sunday 10am)

If you’d like to hire both the Coach House and the Scout Centre together, the cost is double the individual rate.

Scout and Guide groups receive 50% off 24-hour, overnight and weekend bookings.

Rules & Restrictions

• No parties
• No bouncy castles
• Alcohol allowed with the appropriate licence
• Noise must be kept low, especially after 10pm
• Candles and open flames permitted with care
• No pets allowed
• No smoking or vaping anywhere on site
• Hirers must hold public liability insurance

Access & Booking Information

• Self-contained entrance
• Keys collected from a volunteer (details provided after booking)
• No meet-and-greet on arrival
• Early setup available on request
• Please leave the venue clean and tidy
• Deposits apply for bookings
• Minimum booking notice: 24 hours

If you are hiring the Scout Centre at the same time, both venues can be accessed through a shared internal route.
